Questions people ask before they email

Do I need a registered trademark for Amazon Brand Registry?
Amazon generally accepts a pending application from a recognized IP office, including CIPO. Requirements can change and vary by marketplace, so we confirm the current rules as part of your readiness check.
Word mark or logo?
For most sellers the word mark is the stronger enforcement tool, because it protects the name however it is styled. If your logo is distinctive and central to the brand we may recommend both. The readiness check tells you which.
How many classes do I need?
Roughly one class per category of goods. A single-product brand often needs one. A brand with supplements, apparel and accessories may need three. Your fixed fee covers the classes you actually need, and CIPO's per-class fee is itemized separately.
How fast can I enrol?
You can typically use the application number for Brand Registry enrolment shortly after filing. Filing itself takes days once we have your details. Full registration in Canada takes much longer, but Brand Registry does not require you to wait for it.
